Let's Speak Arabic Unit Two, Lesson Thirteen: Telling the time: When does your flight depart?

languages No Comments »

The β€˜Let’s Speak Arabic’ series aims to teach Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) to non-Arabic speakers. The series assumes no prior knowledge of Arabic and thus is suitable for absolute beginners. MSA is the formal form of Arabic understood across the Middle East, used in the fields of education, diplomacy, business and the media. That said, this series also teaches some colloquial (dialectal) words and phrases that are in widespread usage. Moreover, certain cultural and religious customs and norms are explained during the series.

The series primarily uses Latin script to represent the Arabic text, but it is also supported by the Arabic script for those who can already read and write vocalised Arabic. Those wishing to learn to read and write the Arabic script may be interested in my other YouTube series, β€˜Arabic from the Beginning Part One’.

The β€˜Let’s Speak Arabic’ series is subdivided into units. This unit, Unit Two, teaches:
β€’ The Cardinal Numbers 1-1000
β€’ The ordinal Numbers 1-31
β€’ How to ask for and tell the time
β€’ Times of day: morning, noon, night
β€’ Talking about daily/weekly routines
β€’ The days of the week
β€’ The months of the solar & lunar year
β€’ How to express dates
β€’ Talking about one’s age & birthday
β€’ Talking about the seasons & weather
β€’ Adverbs of time
β€’ Common past & present verbs

Lesson Thirteen: Telling the time: When does your flight depart?

"I can't speak Arabic" In Arabic.

languages No Comments »

How to say “I can’t speak Arabic” in Egyptian Arabic.

You may feel like thinking about grammar reduces your speaking speed and fluency. That’s because your brain works hard to calculate grammar so it takes a long time to generate sentences.
When you memorize whole sentences, you will speak faster because your brain only uses your “Memory”. So, along with learning Grammar, it’s also important to memorize sentences. I believe that this approach makes you improve fast.
