In this short Spoken Lebanese Arabic language lesson (Levantine Dialect), you will learn how to say:
Electricity cut out.
Electricity came back on.

You will learn to use Lebanese onomatopoeic sounds like Yiii and Khayyy…

Cultural tip: in Lebanon, and unfortunately, this is something that is very common to happen. We have power cuts usually twice a day: at 12:00 noon and 12:00 midnight. So when electricity cuts out in Lebanon: people immediately say: “oh it’s 12:00 o’clock”.

Grammar: You will use the simple past tense in the third person feminine singular. You will learn to conjugate a verb in feminine when the subject is feminine.

The best tip I can give you at this stage is, always write down what you hear and repeat sentences and words out-loud. This is essential in memorizing new vocabulary and achieving fluency as well as native-like pronunciation. And remember, repetition is key!

Enjoy your lesson 😀
