Learning Arabic: First Steps

==================================================

In this video we talk about the first steps of learning Arabic – also applicable to other languages. My advice is to learn Arabic phrases and start speaking the language. Once you know a few phrases it’s worthwhile to learn the Arabic alphabet. The next step is to then continue to learn new vocab using your newly found knowledge of the Arabic alphabet, i.e. learning words in script and making flashcards. Good luck with your studies.

I’m Mike from Oxford, England and my videos mostly teach Arabic phrases. I also do the occasional Arabic music video and travel video from somewhere cool I’ve been. Welcome to my channel!

learning arabic No Comments »

How to learn Arabic? Learn Arabic while you sleep. This video features the most important basic Arabic words and phrases that teach grammar automatically. They are especially useful for the beginning student of the Arabic Language.

Audio in English and Standard Arabic

To use just play the video before sleeping…

If you want to really learn Arabic, the best way is to listen and speak the most common Arabic phrases as often and as accurately as possible. If you want to learn Arabic well, these videos will help you do that. And doing it in a relaxed way is even better!!!!

Looking for a Arabic teacher? Try Italki. They have tons of great teachers that you can talk to online.

The idea is to be in as relaxed or calm a state as possible. Put on headphones if you need to. Best time is the right before you go to bed. The brain is supposedly more receptive in that relaxed state.
The plan: listen to this as often as possible until the words and phrases are natural to you, that you don’t even need to think to say them.

These phrases can be used mainly for the first encounters. What do you say to people who you don’t know at all or don’t know very well? Those phrases.

My name is Evan (eko). Happy learning.
Let me know if you want to learn anything specific. 🙂

Embracing Multilingualism and Eradicating Linguistic Bias | Karen Leung | TEDxWWU

Karen Leung is currently in her second year in Woodring’s Early Childhood Education at Western Washington University. Through her involvement in this program, she has found that her passion lies in social justice and linguistics, and the overlap that exists between these two in bilingual education. Being in Woodring allows her to apply her passions to her teaching career, and gives her the opportunity to break down language barriers in education. Growing up as a native Cantonese speaker, Karen took ESL classes in school, all the while interpreting for her parents during teacher conferences at just seven years old. Through this experience, she realized that there is a need of increased awareness of the linguistic biases in our society and the need for more resources for immigrant families who are working in tandem with schools to provide the best possible education for their children. Karen also sees the potential of linguistic diversity in education, and believes that it is crucial for multicultural education.

Karen’s dream is to open a bilingual, Cantonese-English early childhood learning center, incorporating her knowledge in childhood development and multilingualism. I’m delighted to finally release the highly requested and most awaited “Audience Choice Multilingual Mashup 2020” Kudos to my ever supportive team for making this project happen during difficult times.

The “Drive” in the video encapsulates my real life drive experiences where I also travel on a musical journey! The idea to integrate this into the video came from wanting to add colour and life to this multilingual track.

Also, forever indebted to you my dear audience for your active contributions and you’re the voice of reason for this multilingual project ! My drives are incomplete without music and this is a Special dedication from me to you !
Hope y’ll enjoy this mashup and travel along on this musical journey! 🙂

Lastly, I would like to use this multilingual track to urge people to stand united and be kind to one another regardless of innate differences. Spread positivity and love, check in on your loved ones and never resist seeking help! “Don’t be pushed around by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart.”
Stay Safe, Stay Positive and hope this track will add colour and happiness to your lives!
